Poetry heals the wounds inflicted by reason. ~Novalis
Nadia Trousdale has been enchanted by the world of words for as long as she can remember. As a child she devoured books whole, and busied herself with writing short stories. In junior year at Senn, an interest in journalism and keen eye for grammar led her to become Chief Editor of the school paper, The Senn Times. Her creative writing class that same year cultivated in Nadia an intense love for poetry, which has since 2008 become a full-time undertaking. Her greatest influences are the Romantic and Victorian poets, with a dash of Mark Strand and Arthur Rimbaud. She has been published in Clavicle Magazine, and reads her poems at open mics whenever possible.
Nadia is twenty-three, a Chicago native, and currently lives in Andersonville. When she’s not writing, she can be found dancing down the street with her iPod, pestering koalas at the zoo, or blissfully snuggling antique volumes of Keats. She loves coffee, New Orleans, hookah lounges, Elvis Presley, halfheartedly trolling Omegle, and anything to do with the paranormal. At present, Nadia is writing her first foray into historical fiction, a journal from the point of view of Constance Mary Lloyd, loving wife of Oscar Wilde. She is also working on the follow-up to her first volume, Two Seasons, which is now available at the Store.
